After high school, generally graduates move to a formal educational institution or go straight in to employment. Eventually both groups find they are working for somebody else. Aspiring to be their own boss, and work to achieve their dreams. Nevertheless, society wonders what makes successful people different. Many believe the difference is the level of formal education. Common keywords to being successful are take action, be persistent, work hard, analyze details, and communicate. Moreover, a practical knowledge or theoretical knowledge is required to succeed. Both assume the risks to pursue opportunities. However, a trait they both share is leadership. The decreased flow of business sales was due to urban workers moving to live in the suburbs. He listened to the advice from th e crew that was already working there. Together they realized the shop did not open until most customers were already at work. Logically by shifting operating hours to earlier in the morning and later in the evening, he could draw in the working class. Furthermore, by motivating the mechanics and sales floor to work on commission he was able to convert the service station to one of Dormanââ¬â¢s top ten locations. Marc recalls, ââ¬Å"From that I made my markâ⬠(Graham). Throughout Dorman it was said, ââ¬Å"He is a loudmouth, but the reality is, he knows what he is doingâ⬠(Graham). Marc Graham resides in Philadelphia four days of the week, and San Diego three days a week. His average weekly commute one way is 2738 miles. For about a year, in 1997, he attended the Stanford Sloan Masters Program at Stanford Business School. Marcââ¬â¢s advice in leadership is to ââ¬Å"follow the opportunitiesâ⬠(Graham).
